About us

A Birmingham-based multi-academy trust, founded on our excellent track record of collaboration, school improvement and system leadership

Create Partnership Trust was established in Birmingham in September 2016. This is the next stage of the journey to excellence for its founding schools, Greet Primary and Conway Primary, which have been federated since 2009. A third school, Hodge Hill Primary, joined the Trust in January 2017 as the first sponsored school. The uniqueness of each school is respected and celebrated by the Trust but we also seek ways of working together in terms of both sharing best practice and problem-solving.

The fourth member of the MAT is Greet Teaching School which brings further school improvement resources.

Our mission is simple: to create ever better learning outcomes and secure futures for our children and schools, based on a collaborative culture with shared values and clear moral purpose.

Create Partnership Trust is committed to the growth of an inspirational family of schools.

Create Central

A central core team known as Create Central, is being developed in line with the Trust's growth. It is growing rapidly in line with the needs and aspirations of the Trust.

Some staff already employed in the Trust schools, also give portions of their contracted time to Create Central, using their skills to help the Trust audit various subjects and aspects and getting involved in some of our outward facing work.

Our mission is simple: to create ever better learning outcomes and secure futures for our children and schools, based on a collaborative culture with shared values and a clear moral purpose.

  • To maintain current strengths and create secure and successful futures for all stakeholders in Create Partnership Trust schools based on a collaborative culture with shared values and clear moral purpose
  • To ensure that all schools in Create Partnership Trust become forward thinking and dynamic centres of learning excellence
  • To develop strong working partnerships internally and externally, which have a positive impact on pupils’ achievement, safety and well-being
  • Incremental growth of the Trust
  • Systematic school improvement
  • Early intervention and transition for our pupils
  • Initial Teacher Training
  • Collective recruitment and retention of staff, leadership development and succession planning
  • Strategic business and operations planning

We have recently revisited our values in the light of our first year as a MAT: excellence, partnership and perseverance.

At pupil level, these are interpreted as:

  • Excellence - we give our best at work and at play; we aim high; we believe in ourselves; we enjoy learning; we love to contribute; we are curious; we celebrate success; we think about our learning; we are successful; we achieve well independently; we are proud of our work; we understand that there are steps on the way to excellence; we understand that excellence is achieved through partnership (working with others) and perseverance (what we do as individuals)
  • Partnership – we work together; we listen to each other; we share and take turns; we learn from each other; we respect each other; we are sincere; we are good citizens of Birmingham, the United Kingdom and the world; we contribute; we are happy; we feel safe; we look after our school; we are part of a team; we are part of a family; we help each other to achieve well; we believe everyone is equal
  • Perseverance – we don’t give up; we try our best; we are not afraid to make mistakes; we learn from our mistakes; we can talk about our learning; we take responsibility for our learning; we are helping to make our own futures; we can change if we need to; we can find solutions; we look forward

Conway Primary School

Conway Primary is one of the founding schools of Create Partnership Trust and was judged good by Ofsted in 2012. Its partnership with Greet began in 2009 when Conway was in special measures and the two schools formed a Federation with a single Headteacher and Governing Body. It has continued to improve over the years and is noted particularly for its positive ethos. Conway is a two-form entry school with 472 pupils on roll, including part-time Nursery. The formation of Create Partnership Trust has enabled Conway to move further forward by appointing its own Headteacher, Tania Yasmin, whilst remaining part of the family of schools

Greet Primary School

Greet Primary is one of the founding schools of Create Partnership Trust and was judged outstanding in its last inspection in 2007. As a National Support School and Teaching School, it has a good reputation for supporting other schools, most notably Conway, with which it formed the Federation in 2009 with one Headteacher and Governing Body. Conway was in special measures at the time and required high level leadership support. Over the years, Greet has continued to maintain its positive outcomes for pupils and has grown to four-form entry with 918 pupils on roll including part-time Nursery. The formation of Create Partnership Trust has enabled the school to move further forward by appointing its own co-Headteachers, Sheenagh Edger and Emma Tyler whilst remaining part of the family of schools.

Hodge Hill Primary School

Hodge Hill Primary joined Create Partnership Trust in January 2017 as a sponsored school because it was judged to be requiring improvement in its Ofsted inspection of 2015. Since the inspection, it has had a new Headteacher Anne Perry, who is already working closely with the other Headteachers of Create schools to ensure that Hodge Hill moves forward rapidly. The school is growing and will be a full four-form entry by September 2017 with 840 pupils on roll. Joining the family of schools in Create Partnership Trust is providing a good framework for improvement at Hodge Hill and a true professional partnership.

Brookfields Primary School

Greet TSA

As part of the first national cohort, Greet Teaching School was designated in 2011 as Birmingham’s first primary teaching school. Although Greet was assessed as the named school, the focus is very much on collaboration and partnership with all its schools through its strong professional network – an alliance of equals. Many of the schools in the GTSA face similar challenges but also have many strengths which can be shared. The main focus of work is school-to-school support, leadership development and initial teacher training. Led by TS Manager Emma Arnott, GTSA welcomes contact from schools which have strengths to share or which might require some extra support. GTSA is a highly-valued member of Create Partnership Trust but also has a clear outward-facing role.
